TBR Soonish Rather Than Laterish

February 23, 2011

For you non-book-geek-freaks… TBR = To Be Read. We use it to describe the ever-expanding piles of books we have waiting around to be read. Here are some of the top ones in my “New in 2011″ list.

Click on book covers to get more information.

They're calling it the Harry Potter/ Twilight for grown ups. Enough said.

Historical Novel? Check. French gossip? Check. On my TBR list? Check.

Vowell is one of my all time favorites. I CANNOT wait for her newest work

This just sounds like such a beautiful exploration of the topic... I have a feeling it will be a new classic.

Such an unusual story; am incredibly intrigued.

After reading about this on Bermuda Onion and seeing the video of the author reading -- I'm sold!

I had the pleasure of reading A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES and it was truly unputdownable! I think you’ll really love it… and have many a late night as you read it. I was torn between wanting to rush through it or go slowly in order to savor it. It was so much fun!

I need to go and read your review of it then! Can’t wait… that makes me even more excited!

Wallace, I just ordered A Discovery of Witches last night and I can’t wait to get it! I’ve heard so many great things about that book that I’m itching to read it. And by the looks of it, you have some great reads in your TBR pile. I’m still adding to mine and loving it! There are just so many great books out there lately – talk about book lust :)

Ah! We should read it together and we can chat about it on GoodReads. :)

A Discovery of Witches and Madame Tussaud are two that are definitely on my “please, please, please” wish list! :)

Right?! Such interesting books coming out this year… I’m thrilled!

I’ve seen Discovery of Witches around but brushed it off. But seeing it here on YOUR blog, well I had to look it up. It looks like a great book…and written by a history professor, well it sounds like something after my own heart.

    Great list.

I have Under the Mercy Trees but haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. You should check out Netgalley. It’s available to book bloggers.

I’m on Net Galley… does it have Under the Mercy Trees available?

Great list of books! I’ve read Under the Mercy Trees and it’s fantastic and my sister loved A Discovery of Witches. I think you’re in for some good reading!

Yes! Your blog is what convinced me I wanted to read Under the Mercy Trees… so thank you. :)

I loved A Discovery of Wishes and can confirm that it is indeed soonish rather than laterish.

Umm, yeah…Witches. A Discovery of Wishes might be pretty cool, too, though.

Hahaha… I didn’t even notice the mistake. Good! Thanks… now I am SUPER eager to read it.
