You may be wondering if all I do is read, read, read. Well, the answer is no. I watch a heck of a lot of TV, and movies as well. However, I don’t watch much current TV. That is, I tend to rent series that are either already over and/or many seasons in, and then I watch all of the seasons in a row. Also, I own a few TV series (Friends, Gilmore Girls, Sex and the City and The West Wing), which I watch often and take on trips with me for familiarity’s sake. Most of the new shows that I watch are 30 minute shows. Anything longer and I have a hard time keeping up with them. Somehow it’s different if they are on DVD, waiting to be watched marathon style if the mood strikes. As for movies, I’m a bit movie-ed out at the moment (if that’s possible). One of my best friends was on the SAG nominating committee for 2010, so I ended up watching heaps of movies this past year with her ,and going to screenings with cast Q&As as well (which was lots of fun, I’m not going to lie).
So, what do I watch on a regular basis, you ask?
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and Chelsea Lately are pretty much all I can keep up with these days. When I have some extra time, I’ll catch up on The Office and 30 Rock (and, about once a month, I’ll watch my recorded episodes of The Big Bang Theory). Other than that, I’m making my way through That 70’s Show from start to finish. And sometimes I’ll break out one of my old faithful’s from the series’ I own.
What do you watch when you are not reading?
