What I Thought:
There is just something about Janet Evanovich… she makes you keep coming back for more. Three to Get Deadly is the third installment of the Stephanie Plum series. A series which you do not have to read in order as Evanovich gives you a short background each time (but if you’ve got the chance reading them in order makes more sense as she does reference previous books, and of course in the first one you get a more detailed background).
Evanovich is the queen of creating entertaining, not-annoying, somewhat realistic (with a more entertaining twist) characters who always have a quick paced adventure in front of them. I almost never guess the end and I always read the book in just a few days — they’re hard to put down. In this installment, Mo (the sweet uncle type candy store owner in the Burg) goes missing after skipping bail. Then drug dealers start turning up dead. In true Stephanie fashion she can’t keep from snooping around. Lula, prostitute turned office worker at the bouny hunter’s office where Stephanie works for her cousin Vince, has a bigger role in this book. Good thing, because she’s funny and adds to the scenery. Ranger and Morelli are in fine form and present as always — just how we like ‘em.
I can’t help but love these books – they’re light, with enough substance to keep you interested, and they’re fast paced page turners. What’s even better? There are sixteen of them as of now! (And they’re incredibly easy to find on PaperBack Swap and/or used book stores… these books are incredibly popular, so they’re everywhere.)
Have you gotten hooked on Stephanie Plum yet?

Two for the Dough

If I’m not mistaken, this is the book that made me fall off the sofa laughing. I’ve read all the Stephanie Plum books except the most recent one, so they’re all kind of a fuzzy mix in my head. Is this the one with the dead body tied to the top of the car?
If it is, it was at that point that was almost maimed from laughing too hard.
There’s a dead body in the trunk in this one — knowing Evanovich there’s probably another one where a dead body is on top of the car. I’m addicted – have been waiting for 5 and 6 from Barnes and Nobles for almost a week – darn holiday weekend messed up getting my books quickly!
