Four to Score & High Five by Janet Evanovich
Since I’m knocking them out so fast, I’m going to be doing these bad boys two (or more) at a time…
Four to Score
This one was totally unputdownable. Fast paced, funny, sexy – everything you want in a paperback end of summer read. This time, Stephanie’s after Maxine, who’s secretly needling her ex-boyfriend, Eddie. Stephanie has no idea what Maxine (who skipped bail) is doing to get Eddie so riled up, but he’s offered Stephanie a reward to find Maxine — and fast. Stephanie suspects that Eddie (who’s known for not being super nice to his ladies) has something he’s keeping from her, but she needs the money, so she pursues Maxine double time. We also meet Sally Sweet in this one (a straight man who dresses as a woman to make money)… a funny, quirky extra character who’s fun to have in the mix. It wouldn’t be a Stephanie Plum book if Stephanie wasn’t in some kind of danger, but this time someone is seriously after her – -and she has no idea who it is. One thing leads to another and she has to move in with Morelli for a bit. All you prudes, these scenes are NOT for you. They’re for those of us who like a little “kick” to our mysteries! This series just keeps getting better and better!
High Five
It took me two days to read High Five… I’m out of lust and now totally in love with Evanovich’s series! This time, there are no FTAs (Failure to Appear) so Stephanie decides to go pro-bono for the family; looking for Uncle Fred who’s gone missing. One thing I adore about these books is that I never guess the endings! Didn’t guess this one either – and was a little surprised by the way things turned out. Not quite as fast paced as some of the others, this one does introduce us to Stephanie’s new side job — working for Ranger! Let’s just say that it brings Ranger into the picture more often and that’s nothing to cringe about. We’re left with a sexy, romantic cliff hanger at the end… stay tuned.

I love the series, too! And I’m so glad, that there are a lot more numbers following.
Have fun with the others!
Thanks! They really are fun aren’t they?
