Rating Guide
Here on Unputdownables, I rate books in two ways because let’s be honest, there are too many books to wade through titles by ratings alone (and like I explained on the About page… I like things to be oranized)!
I start with the Type of book. If you click on a specific Type link in the tag cloud, you can see other books in this Type category.
- Beach Read: fluffy, mindless, or easy to read.
- Commuter Read: format lends easily to starting/ stopping.
- Airplane Read: makes time fly.
- Bedtime Read: lulls you to sleep with sweet dreams.
- Impress Your Friends Read: notable; prize-winner or all around intelligent crowd conversation piece.
- Weekend Read: a book to curl up on the couch with.
I follow with the Rating of the book. I do this instead of giving books stars or number ratings. I rate books based on the following criteria:
- An Unputdownable: Couldn’t eat or sleep until I finished this book.
- I’m Lovin’ It: Very entertaining!
- Me Likey: Enjoyable! Particularly for fans of this genre.
- Eh: Not my favorite, but fine enough to finish the book.
- Ugh: Not for me and probably not for you either.
